You see i want a job not only to make me a productive person of the society but a job that will help my serve my religion in the first place which can be a form of "3ebada"

We can all work for a job that obides to the islamic law but not all jobs can contribute to serving Islam. You can work for a deli but that job may not be the best to serve your religion directly.

The question is where is that jobs that obides by the islamic way and in the same time promotes the islamic way of life and on the other hand one that provides a decent standard of living?

I like what you wrote and encourage myself and others to work on the same guidelines but i do have one question just for the sake of interest

I totally understand why you wont work for a bank because it conflicts with your first category/criteria. But then you include islamic banks, that i would like to ask you, is it because you personally dont want to or due to a religous reason.

You See brother my amibitions is to work for an islamic bank, an islamic bank or an islamic financial institution. The reason behind that is i find it the best way to serve my religion and my duty towards Allah by using my educational knowledge to benefit an institution which can help spread the word if Islam even if it only helped spread the name.

I thank you for this topic and wish you all the best with finding a job that does not clash with your principles morals and values.

Nice topic man! Congrats on the graduation, I too graduated just a few weeks ago. I'm supposed to pick up my "ifada" on Sunday in sha' Allaah.

Concerning the topic at hand, people keep telling me I can't run away from the mixed environment. I really worry about that, it was easy to avoid the opposite gender in college, since it's a men's college. But how will I do it at work?

I'd love your tips on HOW to get the right environment?

Salam 3leikom...

Sob7an ALLAH...

I had the same set of guidelines when I started job hunting

Remember
من ترك شيئا لله عوضه الله خيرا منه
و
من يتق الله يجعل له مخرجا

بالتوفيق
All the best

Allah ybark feekum o yzakum ALlah 5air 3alla el musharakah all.. :)

karamilah:

if u r willing to work in an organization in which u want to change something. lets say advertising agency, u will be dealing with many ppl of different religions but the only goal u want is to achieve an islamic ad or change the way ads are viewed (believe me they suck big time) so will u apply for this job, yes or no? why?

You raised a good point sister.
The thing is though, usually in ad companies, if am not mistaken, clients would come to the company and ask for an ad that has 1,2,3… as requirements. Sadly, more often than not, they require a girl to be in the ad, because they believe that most men are lowlife perverts that won’t mind having a 100 meter long ad of a female giant, wearing Allah knows what, shoved in their faces whether they liked it or not.
If I was working in an ad company I might not always have the privilege of choosing what kind of ads to make. There will come a time where I might be forced to create an ad am not proud of.
A solution, in my opinion, is to open my own company where I would set the rules and one of my rules would be, “The Company respects females and shall not use them as seductive objects, even if you asked nicely.
Back to your point. What if I apply to an organization in order to change how things are done? It really depends on what that organization does and on what you’ll be doing. For instance, you wouldn’t be able to change a non-Islamic bank to an Islamic bank by being a simple Teller or normal employee. It might still be hard when you’re a high-level manager. Its not till you convince the bank’s owner to repent, come back to Allah and settle for a couple of millions of Halal money over a couple of ten-millions of non-Halal money.
I believe it really depends on the organization and your position in affecting the decisions made in that organization.
