About elQamzi

I don’t have much to tell really.

Allah has blessed me with Hedayah (guidance) and made me a practicing Muslim 3 years ago. That’s when I began to look at life differently alhamdulilah.
I believe what aided me in Thabat (to stay a practicing Muslim), after Allah’s great and endless blessings, is seeking Islamic knowledge.

That was possible in my weekly 4 hour commute where I would be listening to Islamic lectures.

I can’t begin to tell how much it was beneficial to me to listen the Islamic lectures by trustworthy Muslim scholars and preachers like Sh. Aa’id AlQarni, Sh. Nabil AlAwadi, Sh. Khalid AlRashid, Sh. Mohammad AlOraifi, Sh. Solayman AlJbaylan, and many well respected scholars and preachers my Allah benefit Islam and the Muslims with their teachings.

  • Basics:

    • elQamzi is my family name (for those of you who didn’t know).

    • I am from Abu Dhabi the capital city of United Arab Emirates (yes Abu Dhabi is the capital not Dubai striking news to some of you :p).

  • Education:

    • One semester to go for a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) -إن شاء الله- from one of the most prestigious universities in the middle east.

  • Hobbies:

    • I go through a lot of phases so my hobbies are always changing, but mainly my two main hobbies are:

      • Poetry: I’ve been writing poetry for a little over 4 years now. I usually write in the Emaraty dialect. Sometimes Classical Arabic and I have a few English pieces. I’ve written somewhere around 20 “acceptable” poems until now. No doubt I like to read poetry, not any poetry though. I adore the old style poetry with the raw UAE accent, like Salem Al-Jamri, Tannaf, and others. However, my personal favorite is the outstanding female poet Aisha Ahmed Al-Suwaidi - عوشة بنت أحمد السويدي - known as فتات العرب.

      • Programming. I’ve written programs in different computer languages, like Java, C, C++, C#. I’ve played with Perl and PHP a little. Well maybe PHP a lot lol.

That’s it. Told you not much to say. :P
